The
sable shadows swept over the mournful home. Death's starless eyes
peered through the murky window smeared with grease as his raven silk
cloak settled on the coal covered cobblestone street. Within, a sickly
child laid in a bed with charcoal rings around his sunken eyes. The
shadows whispering dolefully jade thoughts into the slowly turning, onyx
hearts gathered around as Death leaned in to collect his midnight due
from one who's eyes were now only obsidian pools staring aimlessly into
the ebony night without hope.

Inconsistancy
She talked and worried, fussed and whined
She laughed and joked all the time.
She did bad and stupid things
But then did things to make angels sing.
She wants to change, wants to fly,
Yet she expects others to just change and cruse by.
She hates on others for their alibis
but doesn't realize her own life is a lie.
She can't stand on her own strength
but expects others to run the length.
Nothing is good, nothing is right.
No fight is ever worth the good fight.
She has nothing to show, no pride to take.
Her words do not stand, they do no have weight.
In her wake there is nothing by hate...

A Journey To Be Had
The
morning clouds cling to the green mountains as a child instinctively
clutches its parent's thumb. We pass by the mountains of forests and
the rows of trees fly by as the flipping pages of a book. So much to
explore in every line but no time to stop and take it all in. We rush
off to the mystery of Vienna ahead of us, not to return until we're
experienced what each of us is thinking will complete our visit. Some
will leave happy, some sad, and some will be left having walked the
streets of the city but only as they watch the lights disappear in the
distance will they realize they'd had their eyes closed the entire time.
The Aroma Of Amor
Adding the oil and flour to the sautéed garlic I lean in to smell the aroma that reminded me of home. A little surprised by the arm leaning across my back, gently resting his hand on my waist, I looked up to find him smiling down at me. He looked me right in the eyes without hesitation, staring at me with his hazel grey eyes, that seemed to change colors with his mood. At the moment they were a warm caramel like the sauce simmering in the pan. His sharp features came in at his chin, accented with the smooth point of the bridge of his nose. His hair was perfect without any work of his own, black as night with flawless spikes and a touch of careless hand combing. I could tell he was hot by his ears. Flushing to the same color of the tomato sauce I slowly poured into the sauce. I tried hard to keep from smiling as I noticed the almost invisible dimples slowly forming. I could tell he enjoyed watching, but his take charge personality couldn’t be suppressed as he reached to take the whisk from me, his eyebrows furrowed as he focused on the job at hand, completely absorbed in keeping the bubbles from forming with his shoulders held back proudly.
Where Have All The Men Gone?
Where have all the men gone?
Why do they not ask girls on proper dates anymore?
Why do they flirt and use, but never appreciate and give?
Where have all the men gone?
Boys need to stop being children and stand up for their manhood.
Women should be treated like ladies not goods.
Men should hold doors,
hold their tempers,
And hold girl's hands instead of their bodies.
Where have all the men gone?
Boys lose their strength too easily,
They can't walk girls home without coming in for the night.
They can't help a girl without getting something in return
They can't do the right thing and tell the girls goodnight.
Or maybe the men have gone because they lost their eyes.
They no longer saw women, they saw bodies being thrown at them,
They no longer saw innocent girls, only girls asking to be taken advantage of and told lies,
They no longer saw ladies with dignity, they saw desperately sent pictures on IM
They no longer had any ladies to see.
So the men are all gone, they were right to leave,
The men have all gone because there were no ladies left to please.

The men have all gone because there were no ladies left to please.
A Swing Dance
Flirting glances, hair curls, and batting eyelashes -
accompanying giggles sounding out - stepped on toes and more flips and
twirls - People spun, twirled - girls dipped and blushed - chaos - shy
smiles - nervous steps - flaring skirts - blaring music - moments of
bravery asking to dance - following relief as accepted

Beautiful Girl
The
beautiful girl looked in the mirror, eyes sunken with disappointment.
She saw her hair, black as night that fell over her shoulders as too
ratty, too frizzy. Her hands came to her smooth fair skinned but
hallowed cheeks that she knew only too well were covered in acne. Her
slim figure, starved for nutrition, was pronounced by her small angular
hips. She looked at them with disgust, knowing every roll, every bit of
fat, and it killed her. She looked into the mirror staring at herself
with hatred and dissatisfaction. She was not perfect even though she
tried so hard to be. Her eyes came to stare back at her in all their
lovely blues. As she stared at herself, she saw what she had convinced
herself so thoroughly was true. She was ugly and nothing more.
